New Silver Bullion Cougar Coin

This newly released third coin instalment of the widely popular Canadian Wildlife Series has been released by the Royal Canadian Mint (RMC). This third coin will portray the cougar as the centrepiece of this silver bullion coin. This will be the third coin in a six coin series, which will comprise of the timber-wolf, grizzly bear, cougar, moose, pronghorn antelope and finally the woodland bison. Just like the previous releases there will be approximately 1,000,000 of the bullion coins released for investors or collectors. The cougar design has been engraved by Canadian Mint engraver William Woodruff, this design portrays a Canadian cougar with its front paws grasped on a fallen tree limb baring its large teeth to the world. The obverse design of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is by Susanna Blunt.

The Perth Mint has released the second coin in the Endangered and Extinct Series, the Tasmanian Wedge Tailed Eagle. This is a huge bird that stands one meter tall and has a wingspan roughly twice its own height, separated for thousands of years from its mainland counterparts it now faces a number of threats including the loss of suitable habitat. As a result it is estimated that no more than 130 pairs are successfully breeding each year. This newly released silver bullion coin has been struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of .999 fine silver and is a proof quality coin. No more than a total of 5,000 of these silver proof coins will be released by the mint for eager collectors, each coin will be housed in a wooden case and protected by an illustrated shipper, also accompanying each coin is a  numbered certificate of authenticity accompanies each coin sold.

The eagerly anticipated and awaited release of the 2012 Silver Kookaburra from the Perth Mint is here, this 2012 silver bullion coin has the king of the Australian bush perched in a eucalypt tree. This is the 22 coin released in this very popular series which has been a hit with collectors and investors of silver bullion coins, this coin will no doubt be as popular as the earlier released coins in the series. Each silver bullion coin will be a full 1oz of .999 fine silver with a diameter of 40.6mm, each coin will have the P mintmark of the Perth Mint on it. The Austrailian Perth Mint has released a new coin in the lunar series 2, the  silver lunar Dragon coin, struck from .999 pure silver in bullion and proof quality, the 2012 releases are available as individual 1oz and 1 kilo coins and a three-coin set comprising 2oz, 1oz and 1/2oz coins. The Lunar Dragon is the fifth in the Lunar series II silver coins, and as before the Lunar Dragon will sell out very quickly and for a higher than usual premium. There will be a limit of only 5000 silver proofs of the Dragon to be minted and 500 1kg sized coins, the popularity of this coin will make it very difficult to get hold of. The reverse of each coin will depict a traditional Chinese dragon a long scaled serpentine creature with four legs, with a pearl of wisdom. The Chinese character for dragon and the inscription Year of the Dragon will also appear in the design with The Perth Mints traditional P mintmark...

The Austrailian Perth Mint has released a new series of silver bullion coins, this first fabulous coin release in the series celebrates the Santa Maria and the voyage of explorer Christopher Columbus to the Americas. The Santa Maria ( Santa Maria de La Immaculada Concepcion) was the largest of three ships used by Columbus on his first voyage 1492-1493. Columbus was searching for a quicker trade route to the East Indies and instead he discovered the islands just off the coast of America now known as the Bahamas. This silver bullion coin is struck by the Perth Mint from 1oz of .999 silver in proof quality, The coin depicts a representation of the Santa Maria in full sail set against a coloured globe map and the inscription SANTA MARIA, and on the reverse incorporates the P mintmark of the Australian Perth Mint. other forthcoming Releases will be the Golden Hind, Mayflower, USS Constitution and the Cutty Sark.

The Royal Canadian Mint has released the 2011 Grizzly Bear silver bullion coin, the second issue of the extremely popular three year, six coin Canadian Wildlife bullion series of silver coins. The reverse of this coin features a mature Grizzly Bear roaring and standing on all fours on the edge of a body of water, the coin has been designed by senior mint engraver William Woodruff, the obverse of the coin contains the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the portrait was designed in 2003 by artist Susanna Blunt. A mintage of 1 million coins have been minted.

The New $20 Commemorative Maple Leaf


Authorized by the Government of Canada, this new Canadian silver commemorative coin is legal tender with a value of $20. This coin features the uniquely Canadian specimen finish a three fold combination of different finishes. The $20 coin features an attractive reserve design depicting five maple leaves that form a C and superimposed over the largest maple leaf is the legend CANADA, additional inscriptions on the coin include (20 DOLLARS, FINE SILVER,ARGENT PUR) and the date of 2011. Also there are the initials CS denoting Cosme Saffioti who designed the reverse of the coin, the obverse has been design by Susanna Blunt which is the image of Queen Elizabeth II and circulating the portrait is her name "D G" and REGINA. The 2011 $20 coin has a diameter of 27 mm, a serrated (reeded) edge and a specimen finish. The Royal Canadian Mint has set their mintage ceiling at 200,000, the coin comes encapsulated inside a royal blue folder with a window that allows for viewing or display of the coin, a certificate of authenticity is alsoincluded. This coin has proved to so popular that it has sold out at the Canadian Mint RCM in record time.

The New Battle of Midway Silver Proof

The Perth Mints Battle of Midway, The Battle of Midway (1942) was fought near the Pacific island of Midway, and is considered a turning point in the Second World War. Released in 2011 and the fifth in the series no more than 5,000 of these silver proof coins have been minted.

The Famous Naval Battlesa series of five silver proof coins depicts five famous battles from history, starting with the release of the first coins The Battle of Salamis in 480BC and The Battle of Trafalgar 1805, and ending with The Battle of Hampton Roads 1862, The Battle Of Juttland 1916 and finally The Battle Of Midway 1942. 20th Annivesary Gilded Silver Maple Leaf


The first Silver Maple Leaf was released in 1988 and would become one of the most popular bullion coins to be released, twenty years later in 2008 the Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) released this stunning gold plated Silver Maple Leaf that commemorates this milestone. This Silver Maple Leaf has an extremely low mintage, highlighted in pure gold and marks the 20th anniversary of the Silver Maple Leaf series of bullion coins. The coin features the Canadian specimen finish, which is a three fold combination of different finishes, the design raised area or relief includes both brilliant and mirrored surfaces, while the fields are subtly striated resulting in a contrasting matte appearance of the coin, no other mint in the world employs the specimen finish.

The coin features a brand new naturalistic single maple leaf design and the dual dates of 1988-2008 commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Silver Maple Leaf, the reverse portrait of Queen Elizabeth II is exactly the same one as on the very first Silver Maple Leaf issued in 1988.
